Who is Berchman?

Berchman was born on May Day in 1969. It happened in the town of Lansingburgh, New York (also known as North Troy) at 11:11pm.

Taurus the bull is his zodiac sign.

Berchman has been pursuing art since the tender age of three, when he first discovered crayons were good for more than just eating. He has been working as a graphic designer for over 19 years, and has been designing and developing Internet websites for over 15 years.

His earliest memory is from Christmas Day in 1972 looking at the Christmas tree in his home on 3rd street in Waterford, New York. He attended St. Mary’s Preschool in Waterford at the age of 4. At the age of 5 he attended Kindergarten at the local public school, Waterford-Halfmoon and continued his education there until his graduation with a State of New York Regents Diploma in June 1987. After graduation from high school he attended Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York graduating in May of 1991 with a Bachelors of Arts in Fine Arts and a Bachelors of Science in Information Science.

Since graduating from college he has been employed at various companies within the creative services and computer technology fields. Between the beginning his career to the present, he relocated from rural upstate New York to the warmer climate of metropolitan Southern California. After a few moves around the ’southland’ he has settled in Ojai. He is presently President and Creative Director at HamiltonBerchman Design Group, Inc. a web design and development company he founded. He is a partner and Chief Creative Officer at Dennison+Wolfe Internet Group. He is also an independent consultant brought in to help “figure things out.

Berchman is passionate about information design and its ability to streamline and facilitate information accessibility over the Internet. He is always interested in peoples’ experience—what works for them and where improvements can be made. This never-ending curiosity and enthusiasm fuels development of the many solutions he creates in the projects he works on. He is always on the cutting bleeding edge of “best-practices” and emerging technologies on the Internet. His satisfaction comes from knowing he has helped people access information and knowledge that they otherwise might not have had the opportunity or pleasure of experiencing.

When not trolling the Internet for new ideas and inspiration, Berchman likes to relax at home with his wife, three sons, and a menagerie of pets.
